A sound wave of wavelength 0.70m and velocity 330m/s is produces for 0.5s.

A) what is the frequency of the wave ?

B) How many complete waves are emitted in this time interval ?

hint: use frequency = number of cycles per second

C) after 0.5 s, how far is the front of the wave from the source of the sound ?

  1. A) velocity = f x wavelength

    f = v/wavelength = 330/0.7 = 471.43 Hz

    B) 471.43 waves in one second so in 0.5 there will be 431.43/2 =235.7 or 235 complete waves.

    C) In 0.5 s wave travels 330/2 metres = 165m.

  2. a)frequency = 1/0.5

       =2

    b) 330 x 0.5 = 165

      165/0.7 =235.7

    (i cant think of this)

    c)165m?
