what happens when you make a string with a pendulum shorter?

  1. In a simple pendulum the period T=2pi*sqrt(L/g) where L=length and g=acceleration due to gravity. By decreasing the length you are decreasing the period T as well (as can be seen by the equation). Now the angular velocity w=2pi/T is inversely dependent on T so by decreasing the length you decrease the period and in turn increase the angular velocity, which is what you assumed.
