  1. 1)  A) the magnetic field operates over a short distance.  A compass usually reacts with the Earth's magnetic field, but if another piece of metal gets in the range of the compass needle magnet's magnetic field the needle will deflect toward the metal

    2) A) velocity = frequency times wavelength

    The smallest value for wavelength is going to be 100 million m/s divided by 50 million Hz

    3) Magnetic force.  You need force to have an attraction of repulsion.
