Sunee is training for an upcoming 5.0-km race. She starts out her training run by moving at a constant pace of 4.3 m/s for 19min. Then she accelerates at a constant rate until she crosses the finish line., 19.4 s later. What is her acceleration during the last portion of the training run?

  1. well than that should be 4.3m/s(1140 sec)=4902 m

    5000-4902=98 m left

    use formula s=1/2at^2+vit

    98=1/2(a)(19.4)^2+(4.3)(19.4)

    14.58=1/2(a)(19.4)^2

    29.16=(a)(19.4)^2

    a=.0775 m/s^2
