Physics - please summarize WORK?

Hi people. Just trying to get a handle on things and I wanna make sure I have a firm grasp of this concept. If you could please list all the equations for WORK, the correponding units and each equation's application.

  1. Hey.

    Work is what is done when something transfers energy from one form to another. For example when a light turns electrical energy into light and heat energy.

    The SI unit is the joule (J), which is defined as the work done by a force of one newton acting over a distance of one meter. And its a scalar quantity.

    And the equation for it is work done = force x the displacement in the direction of the force.
