  1. R2=A2+B2+2A*BSIN180

    R=A-B [ZERO]

  2. The net force is NOT zero! If you have two forces acting in the same direction, they add together. Think of the force exerted on someone at the bottom of a dog pile; they feel the weight of all their friends on top of them added together.

    .......225 N........225 N..........

    <--------------- <----------------

    These two forces are the same as

    .............550 N....................

    <----------------------------------

    Sound good? 225 N + 225 N = 550 N

    If they acted in opposite directions:

    ....... -225 N........225 N..........

    <--------------- +---------------->

    Only now would the net force be zero. -225 N + 225 N = 0 N
