Ok, I dont know how to calculate this one:

sand has a specific heat of 670 j/(kg*K) how much heat is required to raise the temperature of 16 kg sand 5 k!!

Please, ten points!!

  1. use the equation:

    heat given out= mass*specific heat* temperature rise

                            =16*670*5

                            =53600 joules


  2. 53.6 kJ

    Just multiply all the numbers you just gave, and that should be the answer.

    You might have run across this equation:

    q = m Δt s

    m = mass, Δt = temperature change, and s = specific heat
