1. where does the car land?

2. how fast is the card going before it lands?

3. if the landing takes .01 secs, how many g's does the driver experience?

  1. Vx = √(2ax) = √(2*10*100) = 44.72 m/s

    Vy = √(2gy) = √(2*9.8*30) = 24.248 m/s

    t = √(2y/g) = √(2*30/9.8) = 2.474 sec

    1) D = Vx*t = 44.72*2.474 = 110.653 m from the base of the cliff.

    2) Vf = √(Vx²+Vy²) = 50.87 m/s

    3)  av = dV/dt = Vy/.01 = 2424.8 m/s² = 247.4 g.
