Surely there is a way to calculate this -- what is the weight of a 40 lb object after falling 20 feet? Is there a formula someone can provide that I can use to calculate this?

  1. I believe this is a trick question. It will stay the same. If you drop a baseball off a roof, it won't suddenly gain weight, it just accelerates while falling. Hope I helped! :)

EDIT: Oh sorry, I misunderstood. At the end of your details, you said you wanted to figure out what newtons is in the real world, so just to let you know there are 4.44822162825 newtons in a pound and if you need a site to find out where to convert that, go to http://www.convertunits.com/from/newton/... Hope I helped this time! Sorry about the misunderstanding. :)
