  1. depends on the density of nails.

Density on the lower bed should be higher as it is transmitted the load of both men back to the sandwhiched man as a reaction force

  2. i cant understand the term 2 beds of nails..?

  3. Assuming you mean that a man is lying on a bed of nails. That there is another bed of nails "upside down" on top of him, and another man stands on  that.

Whether the man lying down gets injured, or not,  depends on :-

The weight of the man standing..

The weight of the upper bed of nails

The weight of the lying man

The number of nails in each bed.

    How sharp the nails are.

    How tough the skin is.

The arrangement would have to be carefully tested.

Obviously, the lighter the men, the lighter the upper bed,  the more nails there are (more support), the blunter the nails are, the tougher his skin, the better it would be for the lying man

The upper bed of nails is pushed into the lying man's skin by the weight of the standing man and the weight of the upper bed of nails..

However, the lower bed of nails is pushed into the lying man by the above plus the weight of the lying man.

The lower bed of nails should have more nails.

  4. are there two men? one is sandwiched and the other is standing on the upper? if the man was sandwiched on a bed of nails, it will not get injured since the weight of the man (which is the gravitational force + mass) was distributed to the normal force on each piece of nail. Meaning, the force is not centralized on one nail which might injure the man.

  5. Depends on the sharpness of the nails &weight of the man standing on top

  6. That depends upon the mass of the man standing on him and the number of nails in the beds.

  7. Depends on the nails. How densely they are put and how sharp they are.

It is possible to build a bed that will injure. For example a  bed with very few very sharp nails. And a bed that will not: a whole lot of nails that ain't that sharp.

  8. No, if the nails are made of cotton, though he may die of suffocation or asphyxiation. But if they are made of steel nails on cushion he may survive. A very thought provoking question.
