Baroreceptor (carotid a.)-> brainstem->inhibit parasympathetic, activate sympathetic-> increase SA node stimulus, increase heart rate-> (major effect) stim alpha2 adrenergic receptors in walls of blood vessels-> decrease diameter of blood vessels, increase resistance-> increase venous blood return to heart, increase stroke volume-> increase BP -> decrease baroreceptor stim-> reverse process
