Indonesia’s Pia Zebadiah Bernadeth and Rizki Amelia Pradipta proved their worth when they won the Women’s Doubles title at the Vietnam International Challenge 2012 in Vietnam, on Sunday, April 1.
The un-seeded Indonesian shuttlers Bernadeth and Pradipta showed their elevated run in the final contest and overpowered Malaysia’s Amelia Alicia Anscelly and Fie Cho Soong in a one-sided fashion.
Bernadeth and Pradipta showed an impressive performance in the entire tournament and also remained on track in the title match as well.
They did not show mercy to their Malaysian opponents in the game and thrashed them in straight sets by taking just 22 minutes of the court time.
On the other hand, Amelia and Fie could not live up to expectations as they failed to resist to their in-form opponents and bowed to them in straight sets without impressing the crowd.
Bernadeth and Pradipta started their run in first set in a commanding manner as they did not take much time in taking a wonderful lead.
They were remarkable in the court by putting up wonderful show of aggressive badminton and set up a sensational lead on the score board until the 60-second interval.
After the break, Bernadeth and Pradipta continued putting up their impressive show without showing mercy to their Malaysian rivals.
The Indonesians manipulated all weaknesses of their opponents in the whole first set and won it easily with a striking 21-10 score on the board.
However, in the following set, Amelia and Fie also showed their brilliance by playing attacking badminton in opening rallies and remained close to their Indonesian opponents in the opening half.
Until the break, Bernadeth and Pradipta were just ahead of their challengers on the score board.
After the break, the Indonesians geared up their speed and managed to stretch their lead without facing any considerable resistance.
Bernadeth and Pradipta were impressive in the court as they spared no chance for Amelia and Fie to fight back in the game and ended the set with a margin of 21-15.
The Indonesians emerged as victorious in the final contest with a one-sided score of 21-10 and 21-15.
