Piano lessons?...please help?

i live in montebello CA and im 16 years old and ive been wanting to learn how to play the piano for a while now...

i wanted to maybe find an teacher? or sumthing like that...idk..can sumone help me?...

if there are other ways to effectively learn how to play the piano i would also like to know? (preferable no online classes unless they are really good)

  1. You definitely need some lessons!  Piano is very hard to learn, and you would need some guidance, and if anything you could take a few lessons and determine if you think you could continue without them.  

    There are a number of ways to find a teacher.

    1. Check local church's, as they may have a program with people who play at the services.

    2. Look it up or do a search on www.craigslist.com  for your local area.

    3. Go to a community college or university that is close to you and check out the music department - there is most likely a piano instructor.

    4. At your local high school - I bet there is a choir teacher, orchestra, or band teacher that also can play piano who might be willing to teach you.

    5. Go to your local music store, especially if they sell pianos!  But you can even just call them up and ask them if they have a private lesson program / teachers for piano.
