Picabo chasing a hat-trick in Bonhams EBF Fillies´ Stakes (Handicap)
Picabo will be chasing a hat-trick of victories, by claiming the Bonhams EBF Fillies Stakes (Handicap) at Goodwood in England on Saturday, August 25, 2012. She will be up against some fierce competitors, but has the ability to outshine them in the class-3
event at the end of the day.
The winner of the 6 furlong race will be awarded a cash prize of £9,704 and a total of nine runners will be eying to bag that in the end. However, it will not be easy for any of them, as a few of the participants have been in terrific form recently and their
chances of shining will be more than others.
The weather at Goodwood has been dry over the past few days, thus the going will be good. In these conditions, it will be difficult for other fillies to come in the way of Picabo, who has been rated as the favourite to claim the top spot. She will enter
the race with a starting price of 10 to 3 and the punters will be looking to place a lot of bets in her favour.
Overall, the four-year-old filly has appeared in 17 races, winning five of them whereas finished as a runner up on a couple of times. In addition to that, she also secured the third spot once, which proves that she is highly capable of giving a tough time
to her opponents.
The Henry Candy’s trainee made her debut in 2010 and she was unable to catch the attention of anyone after her lacklustre performance in the first race. She was a touch nervous back then and finished in a disappointing eight place in the end.
However, the young filly gained some confidence afterwards and managed to win a couple of races during her debut season. She appeared in quite a few events next year, but her performances were not good enough to earn her success on most of the times.
Picabo finished the 2011 season on a low note, but came out positive in the ongoing season. She secured a couple of back-to-back fifth place finishes before securing one runner up position. However, things really changed for her after that, as he brought
up a couple of consecutive victories.
Things will not be easy for Elusive City’s daughter, as today will be her first appearance at Goodwood. Despite that, she will be confident of recording her first ever hat-trick in the sport.
