Pick a filing cabinet lock?

ok so I need to get filing cabinet open, it's empty and we need to put files in at my school but we have no key and no help. the lock is sideways at the top of the filing cabinet, key needed, of course. bobby pins are too big I can stick the individual wires of a paper clip it it but I dont get how to open it. sure anyone can stick something in a lock but how do i open it?

Get the custodians to turn the filing cabinet upside down, and it will open.  Much easier to do when it's empty.
