  1. You don't want blackworms to feed betta fry - these are much too big for them to eat!  You're probably thinking of microworms or Walther worms, although you can also culture infusoria (and you don't need to buy a starter culture for this as you would with the worms).

    And you'll only be needing these for feeding from when the yolk sac is absorbed till about 5 days later - then you can start on baby brine shrimp.

    As someone who's done it - don't use paper towels.  It takes about a month to double the amount of blackworms, and in that time the towels turn into mush (and you have to separate the worms from the mush to feed).  

    I've found if you use burlap instead, it holds together better and oxygen can penetrate better between layers.


  2. Good luck with that. Most people have problems just keeping them from "spoiling" when they purchase a small amount for feeding.

    But I still doubt you'll have any luck. Most people who actually "breed" blackworms use large concrete "ponds" with a constant flow of fresh, cool water.
