Pick up ability helpin pokemon diamond!?

Question

they say that with the pick up ability u have 10% to get an item and if u have it more levels your chances rise up to find an item,usually rare.i can understand why this happens:i have a meowth lv 51 and i batle all of the time and it doesnt get a danm item!please please help why that happens!!!!!(he doesnt hold another item)

You need to walk so your pokemon will pick up an item.

Anyway, the items that a pokemon will pick up aren't that good so don't bother having your pokemons pick up items...

get a teddiursa or zigzagoon they sometimes have pick up

Zigzagoons are usually the best for pick-ups.

maybe you just need to wait a bit longer for your pokemon to pick up an item like you said their is only a 10% chance.

this happened with me before and my meowth was at a higher level than yours but it took ages to pick up items.

it just depends on how lucky you are.
