Picked in the second round of 2012 NHL Draft, Calgary Flames’ Patrick Sieloff looking for NHL
Patrick Sieloff, a professional ice hockey player from United States of America (U.S.A) and plays in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) for Windsor Spitfires, is looking for short cuts and to reach the National Hockey League (NHL) as soon as possible.
The 18 year old defenseman, who was picked in the second round of the 2012 NHL Draft, which was held in June, earlier this year, has been representing the Spitfires in the OHL and would be grabbing the opportunity to play in the NHL as soon as it comes.
Sieloff was made to take a very tough decision very early in his life when he had the opportunity to play in the OHL but his eagerness to play in the NHL made him select the league. Most of the players of his age would not have taken risk and would have
stuck with National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) but he was brave enough to select the Spitfires.
Sieloff revealed that he had taken a long times before making the final decision because this was one of the most important decisions of his life. He knew that he would have regretted if he had made the wrong decision and it was a career changing moment
when he decided to join Spitfires, as he said,
“It took a long time. It’s no ordinary decision. It’s something you want to think about long term.”

The Ann Arbour, Michigan native made it clear that he wants to go to NHL and he had to see that what would take him to NHL in less time and would make him strong enough to play the best league of the ice hockey world, as he said,

“I want to go to the NHL, so basically, it came down to, ‘What’s going to get me there not only the fastest, but what’s going to prepare me for the NHL?’”

According to Sieloff it was a very difficult decision at that time because you never know what is going to happen in future, as he added

“At 16, it is a hard decision, because you don’t know where you’re going to be two or three years from now. An injury could happen, you could be done.”
