Picnic Dessert w/ Strawberries?

2 of my friends and I are having a picnic in the park tomorrow. I'm bringing the dessert. I'd like it to include strawberries b/c we just picked some ourselves and have a lot of them. There a bit mushy now though, so they'd be best in something, not alone. I know Strawberry Shortcake, it just seems like a big hassle and mess, since we are sitting on the ground and such. Any Ideas??

And if I do strawberry shortcake, can I assemble before we leave my house, like can it sit a couple hours assembled before being eaten? Thanks :)

Use this recipe and replace the bananas with strawberries... Delish!

Actually, if you assemble them beforehand, and coat the strawberrys in sugar, the juices come out and it will be even better!

make strawberry flavored water (kinda like kool aid) and freeze it in small containers and put a Craft stick and you will have Popsicles and just take them in a cooler..

strawberries and cream

strawberry pie

make strawberry preserve and pour over ice cream

the easy ones are the strawberries and cream and the Popsicles...
