  1. Okay umm country theme. You can try and bring some potatoe salad. Umm also and if it's like a 5 minute drive you can warm up fried chicken and put it in a tupware. Some rolls and watermelon. This is difficult but cook mash potatoes in another tupaware.

    I hope this helps

  2. *Potato Salad

    Macaroni Salad

***What you can do is meat or pb and j sandwhichs and cut them into 4ths.. and then everyone can eat diffrent kids,

Chips, Celery and carrot sticks apple slices, Or you can do crackers with diffrent sliced meats and cheeses, you can also do wraps which is fun and cheap!! and your the "wrap wont get soggy from the conidments that you add on, do a trail mix or make your own granola. do a pasta salad.. rainbow rotini italian dressing, olives and pamasean cheese

  3. I don't really have enough info to help you as well as I'd want to, so here it goes:

You mention no car, is that no car for the trip either (taking bus or some other transportation). The reason why I ask is because then some of my ideas (baked beans, pigs in a blanket, potato salad) aren't going to work. All three of these foods work well for a picnic and you don't need a grill. I recommend putting the potato salad in a cooler or an insulated container, but if it's just for a couple hours that's really not necessary. In this case I would possibly still do the pigs in a blanket (it's hot dogs wrapped in biscuit mix and bacon- use Pillsbury's crescent rolls, totally awesome) and for sides maybe individual fruit cups or what not (think packing a lunch).

If you do have transportation out to the fishing hole then do the whole "country picnic" thing: potato salad, baked beens, cucumber salad, hot dogs, hamburgers, etc.... make some lemonade or ice tea.

You're kids are going to have a lot of fun.

  4. Hello, That's a very nice thing you are doing for the kids, I would keep the foods simple and bring a CD player for them to listen to while they relax and have fun.

    Fried chicken

    Fruit salad

    Chips and salsa

    Sandwiches like ham/turkey and cheese

    Green salad

    Pasta salad

    Brownies are a must!!

    Pasta salad recipe

1 (16 ounce) package bow tie pasta, uncooked

    2 cups broccoli florets

1 small red onion, thinly sliced

    1 medium red pepper, chopped

    1 cup halved cherry tomatoes

    1/2 cup  Grated Parmesan Cheese

1 (8 ounce) bottle Sun-Dried Tomato Vinaigrette Dressing

Cook pasta as directed on package, adding the broccoli to the pasta cooking water for the last minute of the pasta cooking time. Drain; rinse under cold running water.

Place pasta mixture in large bowl. Add remaining vegetables; mix lightly. Stir in cheese. Add dressing; toss to coat. Cover.

Refrigerate at least 1 hour or until ready to serve.

That's all I can think of for now =)
