Picture in Picture and Dual Tuner DVR?

Hi! I have a 27 inch, Hitachi TV for picture in picture (dual tuner). In a couple days, I will have a dual tuner DVR installed by Comcast Cable. Is there a way to take advantage of the dual tuner on my tv by hooking up the DVR to one of them and then my dvd/vcr player to the other tuner on my tv? If you don't understand the ?, I will add more details.

Can you hook up your dvd and watch it and tv at the same time, now. You should be able to as long as you dont use the dual option on the dvr. That may freak out your tv. You may want to ask the cable guy If he has ever heard of anyone trying that. And you may want to call tech support at hitachi.
