For some CRAZY reason (I'm sure from no fault of my own) he-he...I am having problems figuring out how to get rid of the duplicate pictures that I have in my picture files. Is there a faster way to delete them or does it have to be done individually? Obviously, I'm clueless...ty

  1. you may have to go over them individually, also to look at a pair, and verify that they are copies, and not duplicated in another size, or a thumbnail of the original, and not a shortcut to another image,

so if file is the same size kb's, same image, in another folder, with similar images duplicate, possibly remove, if there was reason why they were placed somewhere else, or used for for other program or album, then you may want to verify that first, backup all images on cd/dvd, then remove if needed,

    ..

  2. If it says copy and then the name of the original one it will be simple

Open the field with the Pic's ....then click View Tab ...select Details ..

Then click on Name Tab until you see that they all say Copy ...select the ones that say copy and delete them(make sure that you have the originals )

another way of doing it is to select (hide-light) all the ones you want to delete ...if they are skip is OK just press Shift key then click on the next pic to hide-light ..this will hide light the next pic without unhigh-lighting the one before it ....ones you have hide-lighted all the ones you want to delete ...just press delete ......

If you accidentally deleted a pic ..open recycling bin and try to find it there ..

One more thing you did do this your self .....you probably high-lighted them and try to move them but let go in same screen this will duplicate pics ...It happen to me before ..

    Well good luck
