Picture reduced to 1/4 on a black screen

Question

My picture is reduced to a straight horizontal line in the middle of the screen- the top and bottom of the screen is entirely black. When i turned the TV off last night is was fine, nomal full screen picture. When I truned on this morning, I had the reduced picture in screen.
