If that so, I can print 10' x 7.6', can't I?

  1. It's in pixels: 3072 x 2304 = 7077888, i.e. 7 megapixels.

You can make a full page print without problems with that kind of resolution. If you really do mean feet however (as in a billboard or custom printed wallpaper), you may or may not need more resolution depending on the intended viewing distance. Up close it will look terrible, but from several yards away things should look fine. For prints that large, a different kind of camera is generally used (think Hasselblad, etc.)

  2. i think it's in pixels

you can print it just need to resize it

  3. Others have said the count is of the pixels that make up the picture, which is correct as far as it goes, but may not fully explain the situation to your understanding. To explain further, a pixel is not a measurement of size but a reference to the 'building blocks' of colour that go to make up a picture. If you have a good photo editing program, you should be able to make a picture on your screen larger and larger until you can actually see each individual such 'pixel'. The more pixels, the better, as the eye is unable to make out the individual pixels making up the picture

  4. that's in pixels.
