Pictures on computer are blown-up?

Question

Whenever I upload pictures from my camera to my computer I save them and then open them to send in an email or something and they are huge. How can I fix it so that when they upload they are normal size not over like 4000 pixels??

If you have a Canon camera,

Press the "Func." button. When you first get a camera, the settings are set to a LARGE picture size. You need to change it to the S for small. A normal picture size is 640x480.

You always want to take your shots at the cameras highest resolution and then for the few you want to send to your friends, resize them using the photo program that came with your camera ... resize them to 600 x 400 @ 72 DPI and remember to save them as a different name so you do not overwrite your original file.
