  1. 'Earth' and 'Eagle' could be seen as 'World' and 'Bird.' 'Chocolate' starts with C, but has a 'ch' sound...I really don't know why that would matter, though. C is C....hummm....

  2. .....discuss with your teacher and

if you spend some time on the internet,

you will be able to find what you need.

  3.   Ask the teacher. Explain to her your confusion and STRESS that if you are confused, it is no wonder your child will become confused.

  4. It's because Earth and Eagle do not start with the Ee (eh) sound, they start with the letter E and if you sound out Earth it starts with an

err sound and eagle starts with eeeee.  Chocolate starts with a chhh sound, not a Cc.  Cc might be a word such as cloud or clock etc.

Kind of hard to explain this in writing, would be much easier in person, but hopefully it helped a little.

  5. earth and eagle have a long e sound.

egg, elephant, and eel have the short e (ehh) sound.

if they were just discussing the letter "e," then earth and eagle would have been correct. but i see it says find pictures beginning with the letter SOUND e.

same thing with chocolate. chocolate starts with "ch" rather than a "c" sound.

it's about sound not the actual letters.

    hope that helps. :)
