1. 2 cup flour

    1 t b. powder

    1/2 cup butter

6 T. ice water or more if needed

Mix all together till crumbly and roll out to fit round glass pan.

    6 apples peeled and chopped

    1/2 cup sugar

    1 t. cinnamon

    1 T. cornstarch

Mix all together and put over dough.

Put the next piece of rolled dough over apples and cut slits on top. Bake 350 for 1 hour.

Tip, cover the crust with foil so you won't have burnt crust.

    Enjoy!

  2. Buy a package of Tenderflake lard or Crisco shortening and both have recipes right on the box for the perfect pie crust.

  3. Making pie dough is super easy. (Ever heard "easy as pie") It's rolling it out and getting it into the pie pan in good shape that's tricky. Here's a simple recipe for pie dough:

    EASY NO FAIL PIE CRUST

    2 c. all purpose flour

    1/2 tsp. salt

    1/3 c. buttermilk

    2/3 c. vegetable oil

Measure flour and salt. Add milk and oil. Stir only until dry ingredients are blended in. Divide dough in half. Roll each portion between 2 pieces of wax paper. Remove top layer of wax paper and transfer crust into pie plate with bottom wax paper still intact and on top. Remove wax paper from crust and shape edges as desired. Repeat with second portion of recipe. So easy and delicious.

NOTE: I like to chill my completed pie shell in freezer 1 to 2 hours before baking for extra crispness of a 1 crust pie. Yield: 1 double pie or 2 single pie shells.

  4. There are many recipes for pie dough on foodnetwork.com: but sorry, dear...I say buy the pillsbury ready made ones in the dairy case of your foodstore...or there's frozen pie shells in the freezer section there, too...I know it might make you feel like you accomplished a great deal if you made your own...but its not easy and you have to own a rolling pin!!! The ready made ones are really quite good...one less step to that great pie....also can look up the pie making ingredients on foodnetwork.com...there's many.

  5. Double Crust

    2 cups flour

    2/3 cup lard

    pinch of salt

Cut flour into lard until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Mix 2 tbsp milk with 2 tbsp water and stir in. Mix with fingers until dough is in a ball. Roll out into 2 circles.

Line a pie plate with one circle. Put 4-6 cups fruit in bottom layer. Add 3/4 cup sugar mixed with 1/3 cup flour. Dot with butter. Seal with top crust. Bake at 425 for 15 min. and 374 for 45 min.
