Pie Minister to give a shot to the Lucky Last @ The Cross 570
Harold’s Cross will stage the Grade A3 Lucky Last @ The Cross 570 on Tuesday, 4th December. Competing over 569 yards flat are, Cavanshealth Raul, Illhaveoneben, Curryhills Taby, Pie Minister, Cherry Rita and Harrys Legacy. The total prize money
of the contest is €250. Contesting the race from the first trap will be, Cavansheath Raul, while taking on the challenge from the other end will be, Harrys Legacy.
The fourth trap for the race, the three-year-old, Pie Minister, has the most experience when it comes to racing at Grade A3. The black dog has been up to it recently, but could not really bag the prize money of any of the last four trips at Harold’s Cross.
The Moran trained ended as the runner-up in two out of the last three outings that the three-year-old had at the identical level.
Taking off from the third trap he missed the Grade A3 Its The Lucky Last @ The Cross 550 on 16th November, 2012 at Harold’s Cross.
His break could have been stronger and the pace that he opted for later could have been faster. Racing wide and then finding it challenging to run in ended the favourite entry at the second position as Dornaville Becky bagged the winner’s prize money by
completing the trip in 31.27 seconds.
After collecting a fourth position on 23rd November, 2012 at Harold’s Cross, he went back into form by scaling the bar up to the second position in the most recent outing.
On 30th November, 2012, the three-year-old raced in the orange vest of the fifth trap. He did take off away early, but could not match the pace and tactic of the winner, Miss Gold Bars, who made it to the other end of the wire in 32.00 seconds,
and led the rest of the lot by two lengths.
He was entrusted with being the favourite at all the three instances, but could not deliver in any, specially when ending fourth.
He has drawn the fourth trap which at times can be tricky when it comes to avoiding crowds and getting baulked. If getting entered as the favourite for a straight fourth time will get him the winner’s honour or not will unfold soon.
