Question:

Piece of glass stuck in my foot.?

I think I accidentally stepped on a very small piece of glass.

And it's lodged in my foot.

It doesn't hurt, but it's not fun when I lean on the ball of my foot, where its stuck.

It seems to be so small that I can't get it with tweezers.

And it's bleeding a little bit.

I just don't wanna get an infection from not doing anything about it.

So what do I do?

  1. Because glass is clear and very sharp, it's hard to remove by yourself. The bottom of your foot is also an awkward place to reach.

You need to go to the doctor or ER and have it removed... sterile and professionally.

  2. You dont need to see any doctor.  Its not a broken foot.  It is just a piece of glass.  Carefully take a pair of tweezers and gently extract the glass from your foot.  After you have gotten hte glass out, use some hydrogen peroxide to clean the area.

  3. same thing happened to my little sister, she had triangle shaped glass shard in her foot with the wider end on the inside. if you see the glass sticking out and its not deep in your skin you can try to take it out yourself. If its large and/or deep in your skin you should have it taken out professionally by a doctor or you can risk infection.

  4. Soak your foot in warm soapy water to loosen the skin, then try it.
