Pierce isnt even the best player on his team, how can he be the best player in the world?

Before KG look at Bostons records wih Pierce. Than look at KGs records when he was alone and Kobe and Lebrons records too. Lebron and Kobe made the playoff and could win alone Pierce couldnt even make the playoffs in the east

Actually once a player wins a title they DO become conceited. He had no reason to say that. KG is WAY better. Really no body is better than another. Everybody has their own style of play. Im not a Kobe fan but he could s***w Paul Pierce in a one on one match anyday. Plus he wouldnt be saying that if he was in the situation he was in last year. But I do have a small crush on him. LOL

Who has more rings?  Kobe does.  Until Paul Pierce & his team win 3 championships in a row, he ain't close to what Kobe is as a player.

well, who scored the most in Game 7 of eastern conference semi finals against lebron? Who pushing the celts to the first road win against the pistson? who made timely shots in game 1&2, defended Kobe in the post in game 4, carried team in game 5, and distributed balls so well in game 6 of the nba finals?

Garnett was settling for long range jump shots until game 6 and missed timely free throws in game 5. Ray Allen couldn't defend Kobe in the low post....

as a matter of fact... he is the leader and the best player on his team.

He can't be.

He was just trying to make a point (when asked if Kobe is the best). His logic was... "if Kobe is the best, and I shut down Kobe when it counted, then I'm better than Kobe... therefore I'm the best in the world".

Faulty logic of course. Shutting down Kobe gives him bragging rights until next playoffs over Kobe. That's all it does.

But Kobe is NOT the best basketball player in the world either. Basketball is a 5on5 game, and Kobe just doesn't play team ball.  So beating Kobe doesn't make Pierce best player.

there is now way he is the best player in the world he has been to the nba finals once and that was thanks to KG and ray allen , the olny reason he got finals mvp is because he faked an injury and came back playing to show his willpower, its just one big insult to every player in the world including his teammates

Pierce can go left or right. Pierce can post-up and shoot 3's. Pierce is a good free throw shooter AND he has a mid-range hjumpshot. Also at his size he is a tough defensive assignment.

He certainly isn't the flashiest player in the world....but if you look at quality over quantity he may be right.
