Pierced Lips- Can a stud be put in FIRST or does it have to begin with a hoop?

I would love to get my lip pierced with a shiny rhinestone or diamond stud but would not do it if a hoop has to be put in first.

You can get pierced with a stud.

Ive had mine done 6 times and you can start with a stud, just be careful with it and with swelling because if it swells past the stud it will cut you lip and be way uncomfortable
