Piercestown Sand seeking out for seventh victory in the College Causeway Killahan Phanter Easter Cup Round 1 Heat 3 at Shelbourne Park
Shelbourne Park is to become home for the College Causeway Killahan Phanter Easter Cup Round 1 Heat 3 over 550 yards on Saturday, 24th March. Competing tonight are Paradise Martini, Fastaway King, Piercestown Sand, Pablo Supreme, Uncle Eoin and
Royal Patrol.
Leading with the best credentials is Piercestown Sand, Ace Hi Rumble’s three-year-old black son out of b***h Tyford Blackie. He has been active eight times during the new season and has already credited six victories against his name with the two remaining
being a second and third position.
Piercestown Sand shot off with the new season with getting trained over 299 yards on 6th January which he took command of in 16.16 seconds and as should have been the outcome, he claimed his seasonal debut.
The three-year-old won over 525 yards on 19th January by racing through the distance in 28.58 seconds leading the field by a good ten lengths. The 4/7 favourite was soon followed by Black Maestro.
Piercestown Sand grabbed onto the second victory on 31st January over 525 yards by completing the trip in 28.53 seconds while in lead of three lengths, finishing the closest to the winner was Airforce Frankie. He tossed another victory right through
his next start on 11th February by dominating the 550 yards and racing across the wire in 29.90 seconds.
Qualifying as the runner up of the race was Slippery Patch, forcing Piercestown Sand to lead by the narrowest of margins ever since he started racing in the new season.
A last third bump on 18th February at Shelbourne Park over 550 yards and Piercestown Sand was onto ruling over the next three races that he took part in and by the end of it struck his seasonal hat trick.
On 25th February, he won the Sis Live Shelbourne Gold Cup 550 Round 2 Heat 3 over 550 yards at Shelbourne Park by making it on the other end of the wire in 30.05 seconds leading by one and a half length.
His second leg of the hat trick was in the form of Sis Live Shelbourne Gold Cup 550 Semi-Final on 3rd March at Shelbourne Park by clocking the track distance in 30.01 seconds.
Completing the trio, Piercestown Sand won the Sis Live Shelbourne Gold Cup 550 Final on 10th March at Shelbourne Park by timing the track distance in 29.71 seconds.
What he has achieved once, is not impossible to accomplish again.
