  1. It's just as easy as getting your lobe done. It doesn't hurt a bit

Really the only thing that scared me was the before part when the people were setting up. I thought they were kidding when they said that I was finished and I had a new earring in my ear

There aren't really any complications from this piercing if you clean it with the solution the piercers give you. However a lot of people advise you to get pierced with a hollow needle instead of a gun, because it more effectivley makes the hole, and take a tiny part of skin out, rather than pushing the skin to the side to make room for the earring

You aren't supposed to change the earring for 12 weeks. don't take it out any earlier, trust me you won't get it back in. And when you can change the earring DO NOT set it too tight on your ear, it will hurt because it will creat sores.

It doesn't hurt, I love my earring <33

And I also have two lobe piercings in each ear, done with piercing gones from the mall or claires. The gun isn't the BEST thing you can pierce with on your cartilidge, but it rarely causes complications. ;D [your desicion really, get the needle, I didn't know about that before I researched]

  2. Nah getting your cart pierced shouldn't be that bad, I mean I had my labret (below the bottom lip) done and it didn't hurt at all, a fast pinch and that's it. But where ever you go, make SURE when they get all there equitment out, that it is ALL in sterile unopened wrappers, otherwise get your butt out of there fast. They clean all the needles with a fire oven in the back, and then rewrap them in sterile wrappers to keep you safe, and also make sure that they wear gloves. All they do is take a clamp and clamp it over your ear, put the needle through, and your done! Good luck!!

  3. First off, it's "cartilage". ;)

    Second, to answer your questions:

    1. Doesn't hurt much at all.  It's just a quick pinch and then they put the jewelry in.

    2. As with any piercing, it can get infected if not taken care of properly.  Also, if you do not get it pierced with a needle by a professional, and instead get it done with a piercing gun, you run the risk of having your cartilage collapse due to the impact the gun has on your ear.  (A needle is like a cookie cutter in that it takes out a tiny part of your skin/cartilage where the piercing will go, whereas a piercing gun is like a dull butter knife that only displaces the cartilage/skin to make room for the piercing, sometimes resulting in the cartilage cracking).  The only way to have that fixed is with plastic surgery. :\

Also, needles are able to be sterilized, or the piercer will use a brand new needle every time, whereas piercing guns can NOT be sterilized, so your piercing will be more susceptible to cross-contamination (other germs or other people's bodily fluids that may have made their way onto the piercing gun).  It's not clean, and not safe for your piercing.

    3. It depends on what is "worth it" to you.  I wanted mine pierced so badly, and my parents finally let me do it, and I had it for a couple years.  But then I took it out because it kept getting irritated and painful.  However, there are tons of other people who have their cartilages pierced who have no problem at all.  You could always get it pierced, and if you like it, then great!  And if you don't like it, just take it out.  At least you will have had the experience of having the piercing and knowing if you like it or not, which would make getting it worth it, rather than always asking "what if?" ;)
