The Bretons have been ultra quiet in the summer transfer market so far and the club’s sporting director has not given an indication of things to change anytime soon
Just like http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Olympique-de-Marseille-c40127, Stade Rennais have to sell players in the transfer market before buying new ones.
While talking to the columns of Ouest-http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Pierre-c29989 Dreossi discussed the transfer aspirations of the club. Dreossi says that the likes of Doumbia, Brahimi and M’Vila might be sold this summer as the club needs to degrease
in order to reduce the burden on the payroll.
Dreossi also indicated that Boukari and Montano would not be retained if an offer came.
“Doumbia, Brahimi, M’Vila are on the move. It is mandatory that the workforce is degreased to reduce our payroll.”
France international, Yann M’Vila was linked with a move away from Stade Rennais. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 was touted as the defensive midfielder’s likely destination. However, the English side has not made a move for him and Dreossi feels that the player’s off-the-field
issues have played a big role in why he has not received a concrete offer.
“There are indeed signs of interest from big clubs, but none of them went to the next stage, that of formulating a concrete offer. Yes, the odds of Yann M’Vila have suffered due to his extra-sporting issues. In addition, the end of last season was not good.
But, a lot of clubs do not have the means to make such an effort (signing the player.”
Dreossi says that the much-heralded financial crisis has been felt by French football a lot and that there are very few clubs in Europe that can afford paying a lot of money for a player of M’Vila’s calibre.
So far, Rennais have not been able to sell a player this summer. Tongo Doumbia was on the verge of securing a move to West Brom. However, the player’s move to the Hawthorns broke down which means that the Bretons are still far away from freeing up some much-needed
cash.
Dreossi says that the departure of M’Vila will force the club to seek a replacement.
