Pierre Rolland confident for the Tour de France 2012
Pierre Rolland of Team Europcar was impressive during the previous edition of the Tour de France.
The cyclist succeeded during the stage 19 of the race and also claimed the young rider’s classifications at the race.
The 25-year-old is currently testing his legs at the Criterium du Dauphine and is eyeing the French Grand Tour as the next big goal of his the season.
Rolland opened his 2012 winning account with a stage 3 win at the Etoile de Besseges and is looking good at the Criterium du Dauphine.
While commenting on his plans for the coming events of the season he told L’Equipe, "It's not easy to express 100 percent of my capabilities in a one-week race”.
“I tried to get into the right breakaways, but I'm often better in the second or third week. All in all, I feel a bit better than last year”.
“I'm more at ease in the mountains and inside the peloton in general”.
“The last Tour de France taught me the importance of positioning. I've also gained more confidence in the descents".
Pierre briefed that, he is feeling much more confident after doing the Criterium du Dauphine and can be a real help for him team-mates during the French Grand Tour.
He helped Thomas Voeckler during the Liege-Bastogne-Liege and last year’s Tour de France which helped the French team during the contest.
The 2012 version of the Tour de France is expected to be the most difficult edition of the race yet.
With as many as a hundred kilometres of time trialling, it will definitely test some of the toughest cyclists in business.
Rolland is more famous for his climbing abilities and the cyclist is planning to fine-tune his form at the French time trial championships.
The French National Championships include almost the same amount of time trialling kilometres as the Tour de France and will be a real advantage for Pierre.
He has participated in a total number of four Grand Tour races including, three Tour de France and one Vuelta a Espana participation to his credit.
Only time will tell, if the young French managed to mark an impression during the most prestigious cycling race of the season.
