The 24-year-old left-back has offered his sincere apologies to all the fans following his inappropriate behaviour over the sending off in his side’s 1-3 defeat at the hands of PEC Zwolle.
PSV Eindhoven left-back, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Erik-Pieters-c12766, has admitted that his behaviour was not appropriate after being sent off in his side’s 1-3 defeat against PEC Zwolle at Philips Stadion on January 19, and has offered his sincere apologies to all the club’s fans.
The 24-year-old, who returned on the pitch after remaining on the sidelines for more than eight months due to a series of injuries, was shown a straight red card in the 67th minute for a reckless challenge on http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Fred-Benson-c14138.
After receiving his marching orders, the talented left-back went straight to the dressing room, and smashed a window in anger that left a big cut in his forearm.
And the Dutchman has admitted that his behaviour was not appropriate.
“I have let myself down. I can still hardly believe it. My behaviour was not only out of character but totally unacceptable. I wish to apologise sincerely and unreservedly to PSV, the fans, my friends, my family, actually to everybody”, Pieters was quoted

“After I had been sent off with a straight red card, I lost self-control and vented my frustration in an incredibly stupid manner. As a footballer, I am a role model to kids, youngsters and older people but I didn’t act like one. I fully understand that
I’ve left the fans very disappointed and I wish to offers my most sincere apologies to them”, Pieters concluded.
