  1. Well, I suggest injecting large amounts of sulfur/formaldehyde into their brains.

(Side effects include: Death, Bloody Death, Excruciating Pain then Death, More Death, and at the rate of .00000000001% success! But to have success, it must be a full moon, the pigeon must be wearing a giant bikini, and standing in a pile of frog eyeballs, while listening to Bach, and singing along in a human voice, while sleeping with one eye open, while eating the other eye, while going to the bathroom, while standing in a pile of slaughted ants.)

    Glad I could help!

(Doctor's Note: It's suicide, but the odds are good!)

  2. I don't know exactly why you want a natural cure since there is an easily available one on the market.

Canker is caused by a flagellated protozoan.  Simply check one of the pigeon supply companies for meds.  You could try Global http://www.globalpigeon.com/ and search for canker.  You'll come up with about 15 options.  There are other supply company listings at this link: http://www.angelfire.com/ga3/pigeongenet...

Prior to the new meds, canker was a really nasty problem in lofts.  The older flyers used to tell me horror stories about some of the strains, including the "wet canker" forms.   If your mom refuses to use the meds of today for whatever reason, you might also want to check out some of the racing texts before about 1960 to see what they recommend for canker and take your chances.

The trouble with canker is depending on the virulence of the strain you could have almost no symptoms or problems or you could have death, severe internal symptoms, etc.

If you can't get to a pigeon supply company, but can get to a local tropical fish store, then go there and ask them for a med for hole-in-the-head disease for cichlids.  The active drug is usually Flagyl or something similar and it's what's necessary for canker.  You have to use the correct dosage for pigeons though.
