Pill Bugs Experiment.?

i did an experiment on pill bugs and if they like higher elevation or lower elevation. We placed them in the middle and timed them for 5 minutes 3 times and recored how many were where.

I'm having some trouble on what the independent variable and dependent variable is

Every experiment has several independent variables (also known as manipulated variables, controlled variables, etc).

There should only be one dependent (also known as the responding) variable.

Your independent/controlled variables were the incline of the board and the amount of time you gave them to respond.

The dependent variable was which direction (up or down) they traveled.
