hey my best frnd has done his 12th now, he wishes to pursue his pilot training(CPL) in US or newhere abroad. Is India a good option for pilot training? his first class medical exam is on Aug,08. How should he proceed about the entire course. Should he complete his 50 hrs, get his Private Pilot License(PPL) and then upgrade to CPL. Is dat a feasable option or should he do the entire flight training at one go and then come back and give his exams here. PLEASE SUGGEST! ne other option, i guess this route is opted as the supply of pilots has increasedand the demand is less. Is the glut situation tricking in?? wats the best way out according to you? thank you for the answers.

  1. First, there is no such thing as a Pilot's License.  It's a 'Certificate'.

What do you mean, done his 12th now? Is that the 12th Grade?  If he's wanting to do training, I can't imagine anywhere besides the U.S. for flight training.  It's why so many folks come here for training - lower overall cost, more instructors, choices, etc...

The need for qualified pilots is still high.  Also, there's going to be a shortage of ATC in the near future, too.  Just a thought.....

  2. In the US Commercial certification must be preceded by  Private certification.

Outside the US there are pilot licenses.
