  1. You need to go to any country that is ICAO compliant and get a your pilots license there. Of course, the USA is the least expensive in which to do it. If I had to go outside the US, I would go to South Africa or Australia. The UK is also an option, but I think the costs are prohibitive there. Also, any EU country would be a good place to learn, but the costs would be higher there too.

    Good luck and happy flying!

  2. Well, I can't answer then, because I am a pilot in the U.S., and could easily help you with the answer.  It's a question I answer alot, and  a question for which I have gotten many 'Best Answer' points.

One thing, I'd like to mention, if you're okay with it, would be to say that flight training in the U.S. is significantly cheaper than overseas.  I don't know where you are located, but it might behoove you to keep your options open.

Oh, and for all those who call it a 'License' - in the U.S. it's a 'Certificate'.  It's only a 'License' to learn.  I have one.

Good luck with your decision.  It's great to be a pilot.

  3. You can call it a license.  Don't listen to the people who say that you have to call it a certificate.  A certificate is proof that you have a license.  What country are you from?  We can't answer your question without some help from you.  Becoming a pilot is very difficult, even for Americans who want to train in the US.  But, if you have a dream, there will be a way.  Good luck.

  4. ""Oh, and for all those who call it a 'License' - in the U.S. it's a 'Certificate'. It's only a 'License' to learn. I have one.""

No, no, no. There is a license and a certificate, they are two different things. If you think there's no such thing as a pilot's license in the US, you should tell the FAA, because they seem confused on the point. See the links below.

Your certificate is a document that proves that you have a particular license.
