  1. i would say that there are some flying schools in the Philippines who are up to industry standards (PAL Aviation School being the country's best in my opinion)...

... and there are schools who have **** instructors that:

    - don't maintain adequate traffic separation in a flying pattern

    - request to fly an altitude exactly the same as an aircraft that's in the same area

    - do downwind 180-side apporoaches even if there's a plane on short finals about to land

    - holds short at the active runway instead of the holding point and takes an eternity to depart

    - tells the control tower to do something that isn't in that aircraft's flight plan

(basically, kamikaze pilots more than airline-ready pilots)

  2. Be weary of what people say.  Not all aviation schools in the Philippines holds high industry standards. If you are going for an airline job, where you get your training, especially basic training is very important.  Stay away from shady schools.  There are only a few handful of reputable flight schools in the Philippines.   You have to research and see for yourself what they say about those schools only then you will get the idea.

  3. yes we have aviation schools in the philippines and it is on par with industry standards.
