Pilot wont stay lit. My husband just ran a gas line extension up to the second floor master

My husband just ran a gas line extension up to the second floor master bedroom for a natural gas wall heater. It has been quite a bit of time now and the pilot just wont stay lit, what other than air in the line could be causing this??
