Piloting license?

how old do you have to be to get one im 15 and i want to be a pilot when i grow and i was wondering if there was any possible way for me to go to maybe a piloting school or something in my spare time and try to get a piloting license? is that possible or do i have to go to college and do it all there??

  1. no no. when i was your age what i did was i enrolled in ground school. when that was complete you get an opportunity to start flight lessons. after you complete all of you flight time you will receive a VFR license. which means you can fly under clear conditions during the day. however i do believe you have to be at least 16 to get your private pilots license. which by the time you complete ground school and flight lessons you should be able to get your VFR and work your way towards your private.


  2. 16 is the minimum age for your private pilots license.

  3. In the United States, a student pilot must be at least 16, and an applicant for a Private Pilot Certificate must be 17.

    Do an internet search on "FAR part 61."

  4. In the US the Private Pilot minimum age is 16 with Glider privileges.

    Find instruction locally.  Avoid pilot schools.
