  1. My father was an aerospace engineer and would always bring home blue prints, calendars, and other types of aviation stuff. As a kid, I was fascinated by it all. I grew up building model airplanes and doing drawings of fighter jets.

  2. I think, personally, the flight deck visit did most of the motivation. I also used to live near a airport and I always see the taxi way lights and nav lights of aircraft on the early drive to school. My dad, was a engineer, he would bring home mugs (I still have one!) and the calendars. Several times he brought me to work on Saturdays. Then I was hooked! I went to uni, did a cabair course and I work now for the same company as my dads (BA) flying A321's around.

  3. On a commercial flight when I was young, the flight deck door was opened, and I saw through to the flight deck.  Through the window I saw the clouds outside, and became jealous that I would never be able to see that view.    It stuck with me my whole life.  I became envious and jealous everytime I saw a pilot.

One day the opportunity arose to attend a flight school, and I jumped on it.

Thats pretty much a short version of a long story.

  4. While I bought Microsoft Flight Simulator X last year.  I began to get jelous on how I am seeing all these great views, but not for real.  I wanted to experience the real rush when you are landing in a real plane in the middle of a storm.  Now I am motivated and one day will become a pilot no matter what is in my way.  Another reason is that I like the feeling of being in the sky and just having that feeling of being invincible.

  5. I always loved the feeling of being flying... but I think the most important moment was when my best friend's dad invited me to visit the cockpit when we land at Montreal, Canada and it was just the best feeling ever... and I said :this is it... this is what a want in life" and obviiously my pasion keeps growing everyday... now I'm half way to get my comercial pilot licence and my dream is just coming true...

***and something else... a lot of people think a girl can't do this job, and that motivates me even more... 'case this girl is gona be the best mexican pilot, lol!!!***

  6. I was always traveling a lot when I was young. I always used to look inside the cockpit as I boarded the plane and wish that for once I could be there and understand all the "complex" little k***s and buttons and colourful screens. I came to admire pilots and I also noticed how nice and fun they all were. The more I saw them the more jealous I got, so as soon as I was old enough, I decided to "join the club". And Voila! I just Love to fly and can't imagine a world with out airplanes.

  7. Go to your local airport/flight school. Sign up and take the introductory flight. When done you will have a felling that will stay with you for days - I was hooked and signed up on the spot to go for the license.

  8. I'm not a pilot, but I'm entering school and will be in a few years. The best answer I can give is a quote. Though he never actually flew, I think Leonardo DaVinci understood the draw of flight:

"When once you have tasted flight, you will forever walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward, for there you have been, and there you will always long to return."

I honestly can't explain exactly why as there are too many feelings involved, but I'm  absolutely hooked.
