  1. I really wish someone would get this right....

It is a Private Pilot Certificate, with ratings for Instrument, Multi Engine, etc.  There are endorsements for complex and high performance aircraft.  You can get a certificate for fixed or rotary wing aircraft.

You can also get a Commercial Certificate, with or without the same ratings as the Private Certificate - Instrument Rating, Multi Engine Rating, etc.

If you have the FAR/AIM, look in it under Part 61.5.  If not, check out the following link to the FARs on the FAA site:

    http://rgl.faa.gov/REGULATORY_AND_GUIDAN...

  2. aaah, im also doing my ppl, I'm so glad you asked this questoin, i will try and find all the info you need, and email it to you, i just hope your email is public, my email is quindupr@yahoo.com, so you can mail me with further q's... good luck, the comm license is a bit hectic, one of my friens are busy with his Comm.

  3. Good Luck

  4. A license is a rating. Theres private pilot rating, instrument, commercial, and CFI(certified flight instructor) ratings. To get your privates you need 40 hours total time, 20 hours have to be with a flight instructor and 10 of those hours have to be solo. 5 of the solo hours is cross country and the other 5 is local solo time. You need 3hrs at night. Its real complicated to break down all the FAA regs on here. Once you meet all your minimum hours you can receive you private pilots rating. Your instructor should be giving you all this information. Google private pilot part 61 and you should be able to read in detail. This is also listed in the FAA far-aims. Its also better training and quicker through a part 141 school.

  5. That depends on what country you are in and what you are looking to do with your license.

Below is a partial listing from the FAA.

  6. If you are training to be a Private Pilot, then you have an instructor and a copy of the FAR/AIM.  The correct way to get the answers to your questions is to ask your instructor, and read the FAR/AIM.
