Question:

Pinch Harmonics?

I think i know how to do harmonics at least pretty good on the guitar. I just need some help with pinch harmonics (also called "squealies". I forgot to ask this in my other question. I wanted to know how people bend the harmonic and create a vibrato as well. If anyone can help, please, let me know. ^_^

  1. yeah, you almost "pinch" the string and pick together and jsut barely let your finger hit the string and it squeels. once you get em, you never lose em. theyre harder on higher strings, and each string has the perfect spot where to pinch at, usually around the middle, in the higher strings i get better results closer to the bridge. and btw, the fifth fret screams the best on any string

  2. pinch harmonics come off your pick hand, you have to sort of choke up on the pick in a way ("pinch it"). Just turn up your distortion (easier to learn, though not necessary) and practice.  For bends and vibrato you can just bend the string or if you want and aggressive sound use a guitar with a floating bridge Ala pantera / dimebag.

  3. Pinch harmonics are pretty hard, I'm still learning them too.
