Pinch hitting at top of the order?

im no mug with the bat , usually bat 4-5 .

anygood techniques or ideas?

  1. Knowing how fast the ball coming at you is going to be does help with the type of shot you should play.

    if im facing a fast bowler, i could usually tell if the bowl going to be fast or if theyre going to make it a slow ball by the look they have in their eyes. They have a really angry or aggresive face if its going to be a fast one and a pretty calm face if its going to be a slow one.

    But not all bowlers have a tell tale sign - ive learnt to control my facial expressions whilst bowling.


  2. Keep these things in mind

    1. At the top of the order you usually face fast bowlers.

    2. The ball is hard and there probably wont be too many variations of pace. Bowlers at this stage concentrate more on line and length.

    3. You need to be quick with your reflections.

    4. you should be willing to play a few in the air (during powerplays).

    5. When you hit the ball, hit it hard so that edges go over the fielders (for boundaries, if you are lucky).
