Pinching pain in thumb?

well, my left thumb hurts, and i dont play any sports or anything. it hurts where the thumb starts, at the hand. i didnt do anything to hurt it... that i know of. its sorta a pinching type of pain.... what could it be???

A bruise (an example only) such as when sleeping the wrong way can sometimes cause this.

Another thing that could be causing it (and this depends on your age) is growing pains if applicable.

The only way to find out for sure what's going on is to see your doctor for further evaluation of the situation to see what they say.
