Im a 16 years old girl, healthy no smoking and sometimes but very rarely when I take a deep breath I feel pinching on the left or right side of my lungs. Right now its been doing that for like five minutes and I hate it. It happens to other people I know, so it must be normal? What is it? How to make it go away? Please answer, thanks!:)

  1. something like this is difficult to guess at.  it could easily be a growing pain.  i would talk to your parents about it if it doesn't let up within a day or so.  regardless, you MUST see a doctor if the pain persists for up to five days.

  2. hi ur case is known and is very common. pain caused may be of 2 reasons 1- some breathing probs and 2-  some heart probs and some malnutrition first have a cheak up if u have it very frequently nad heavily.

  3. It could be several things, simple growing pains that you and many of your friends are experiencing all over your body.

You could have pinched a muscle or nerve in your ribcage. I do this all the time, it feels like your ribs are tangled up, and breathing and stretching are really the only ways to work through it.

Another cause could be pleurisy. Here's a great website: http://www.webmd.com/a-to-z-guides/under...

it's an inflammatory disorder in the lining of the ribcage that can make breathing, coughing and sneezing very painful sometimes. This one will need to be diagnosed by a specialist and is usually seen in younger teens and adults. I also had this for a short while and it felt like I was having a heart attack...very painful.
