For those who know, could you please explain to me the differences between these drivers? I am looking to get the G5...but if someone can lay out enough advantages to one of the others then I might go that route. Thanks!

  1. Your additional details answered your own question, really.  The G2 is the oldest, then G5 and now G10.  You know that already.

The bottom line is marketing.  It's the same reason why auto companies come out with different body styles on a particular model every 2 or 3 years, it encourages new purchases.  If you own a G2 and G2 is the newest model that PING makes, you probably won't go out and get a new one, but if they keep coming out with a new model every other year, golf nuts will go out and buy a new driver because 'there's new technology out there'.

They claim that every new model provides a lower center of gravity and a better launch angle (as they have been at the MOI and clubhead volume limit for quite some time now).  But in the end, as I suspect you know, your swing will determine which club is better for you.

  2. The newer the model the more advanced the technology.

    G2, G5, G10 in order of price.

Go with the G5 over the G2.

    Good luck!

  3. G2 is the older one, G5 came out about 4 years ago, and the G10 is the newest model
